Owners Dianna Dahlgren and Taylor Leigh have over 20 years of friendship under their belt.
Growing up, they both battled & overcame low self worth, lack of confidence, never really fitting in anywhere, but not wanting to go through life alone either. Heavy bullying, slander, gossip, and feeling entirely misunderstood, alone, and lost was nothing foreign to them.
You name it, they have been there, and they have done that.
Since meeting at 14, they have been able to experience the transformation of each others journeys. Through each season, seeing one another grow in business, overcome obstacles, have huge wins, and also sit with one another as they experience painful lows.
Becoming mothers, getting married, (getting divorced-tay lol) A friendship that stands through two decades of testing time, is rare, but it is something they feel every female should experience. Women in your corner, having your back, encouraging you to become the best version of yourself, and reminding you that you are a BAD B.
Incoming.. Salty Honey.
With Dianna’s background in the fitness industry, Taylors background in the fashion industry, and both with a hunger to create something their former selves once craved, they blended together their gifts, and their minds, into something truly special.
Right from Taylors spare room in her home, with infant twins & a toddler daughter, while Dianna was pregnant with her first child, they started working with manufacturers & creating garments. With zero education, minimal experience, and absolutely no prior schooling, they began just running with their dream.
It began with the vision, a space for REAL women to feel welcomed, valued, and heard. At the time not ONE single brand was representing REAL, EVERYDAY, women. it was NOT trending to opt out of using professional models & boycott photoshop, they were looked at like they were crazy! However, they believe God prophesied over the success of their business & vision years before it would become a fad. It was never a fad to them, it was their hearts.
Next came a few leggings, with "special" pockets, several bras, and a few tanks.
Now looking back, they laugh at how absolutely HORRIBLE these were, but at the time, they designed what they would want to wear, and with nobody in the now super popular "athleisure" space, they didnt have much to compare it to!
They created their website on their own, bought their shipping supplies consisting of boxes and duct tape, and took their new small audience on the journey. Taylor, having no social media of her own, would share behind the scenes on instagram, her babies making a mess in the "office" and the making of Salty Honey. Women started following, connecting with the vision, enjoying the authenticity, and the launches began selling out.
Since then it has grown and expanded into swimwear, loungewear, all kinds of activewear, accessories, intimates, outerwear, and more!
While still a small business, their customers & community have expanded their company through word of mouth & genuine love. With zero formal marketing and no paid for advertising, they have developed something worth more then money & clothes, but with a rooted connection to their audiences.
They boldly & proudly stay true to themselves, their morals & values, while also laughing hysterically & being open with their seemingly raw sense of humors.
Dianna is now a loving wife, and mother of 2, while Taylor is a happily single mom of 3, developing a multi million dollar brand, that all started in a 10x10 room with 1 rack of clothes, and a prayer that at least 1 person would buy it.
They have built their brand ONE customer at a time, and they desire to inspire other women to chase their dreams, and fall madly in love with themselves, and their lives. Bonus perk..with hundreds of other women cheering them on while they do so.
Lastly, they give ALL glory to God in what their company has become. They understand it would be impossible to have endured the last few years without God having His hand over their business, and they cannot wait to watch it continue to grow and touch many more lives through their clothing.
xoxo
